Phil Galfond Back In Action

If you read Phil Galfond’s blog over at blueFire Poker, you may recall the cash game phenom talking a few months ago about how he was planning on pulling back from the big games.

It seems that temporary lull is over. Glafond is back in action at the nosebleeds and has put in several thousand hands of play, mostly at short handed cap PLO in the 100/200 to 200/400 range.

Here’s an excerpt from a recent blog of Phil’s:

Hey guys,

I know I said I wasn’t going to play big for a while, but there were 6 tables of 200/400 cap PLO running last night, alongside 2-3 tables of 1500/3000 7game. I had to play.

The swings were huge, especially considering I’ve been playing a lot of 25/50, but I ended up near even. Kind’ve disappointing, since I was up most of the session.

I have to run now. My parents are visiting for the weekend and my place is a mess. Talk to you guys soon, hopefully with some HHs included.

Seems like the lead instructor at bluefire just has a bit too much gamble in him to stay on the sidelines while the games run at the top levels on Full Tilt Poker. Time will tell if he decision to head back into the skybox will result in riches or rags.
